04 April Femastrology - AriesBy Victoria Bearden

The Sun in Aries says “Go, go, go!” and Mercury Retrograde says “Slow, slow, slow!” And sometimes Mercury Retrograde just says flat out NO. Oh, snap! I hate it when that happens! It’s not that we can’t move forward now, it’s just a little complicated. With the Sun and Mercury Retrograde in Aries squaring off with Mars, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn, there might not be many shortcuts this month. Fiery Aries energy represents our will to live. It’s our sense of self-determination. Earthy Capricorn is about structure and order in our lives. It’s about commitment, work, and persistence. The extra patience required during the first part of April can lead to friction and frustration. But there is a major energy shift mid-month that will be a real game changer. So, get your ducks in a row and get ready for a big energy surge as April 2018 unfolds.

The Sun in Aries asks us these questions: Are you in touch with your passion and desire? Do you have a healthy sense of self? What kind of new experiences would you like to have in 2018? Are you willing to take some calculated risks? What does your Inner Warrior need to stand up for at this time? We live in a world of mixed messages about the ego. On the one hand, everyone loves a winner, and success is often the measure of the person, even though we’d like to think we aren’t that shallow or judgmental. At the same time, people cringe at the blatant self-importance and egocentric behavior we see in the rich and powerful in the public arena. So where is the balance? The lesson of Aries is that of honoring your Individual Spirit. Embrace your sense of self-respect, dignity, and self-worth. Your bravery and integrity will enliven and brighten your life path and inspire others. Self-centeredness is then replace by a “centered” self.

Mercury, the planet of communication, goes Direct on Sunday, April 15, 2018 PDT. Yippee! Keep in mind, it takes a few days for things to really start straightening out after weeks of Mercury Retrograde Madness! Soon all the missed appointments, technological breakdowns, and fouled up communication will be behind us. This is a big pivot point, as there is a New Moon at 26° Aries on the same day! New Moons represent a clean slate and a chance to begin again. Mercury Direct, the Sun, the Moon, and Uranus line up, opening a doorway to power, change, and self-realization. With the Sun and Moon in Aries squaring off with Pluto in Capricorn, we are challenged to take a good look at old, imprisoning patterns of belief that have diminished our sense of self-worth. It’s time to break free from stagnation and set your life in motion. New projects and ideas can really take off now, so roll the dice and take some chances.

The Sun will enter Earth Sign Taurus on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Taurus represents both physicality and creativity. This vibration supports practical and financial activities, as well as creative and artistic ones. There is a nice astrological opportunity period on this day, so take advantage of this if you need a little luck with your endeavors.

There’s a Full Moon at 09° Scorpio on Sunday, April 29, 2018 PDT. The Full Moon in Scorpio stirs things up at the deepest levels. Often, if we aren’t swept up in the intensity of emotion, great truths and insights can be uncovered. There is a Moon Wobble, where the Full Moon squares the lunar nodes, which will undoubtedly spark strong emotional reactions in some people. So, keep this in mind if you notice people acting a little more “looney” than they usually do on the Full Moon.

Opportunity Days: April 5, 6, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 25, 29 and 30
