BA Diversa Festival rolls out the rainbow carpet

While Pride Month may be over, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any celebrations by the LGBTQ community around the world. One of this is Buenos Aires’ biggest annual LGBTQ party, the BA Diversa Festival, in Argentina.

The fourth edition of the BA Diversa is scheduled to run from August 14 to 19 in one of the world’s most diverse and LGBTQ-friendly cities.

BA Diversa Festival: Celebrating Pride

First held in 2014, the BA Di versa is a multi-day city-wide event that promotes LGBT inclusion and diversity.

Expect a lot to happen from rainbow displays at the iconic Obelisco to cultural and sports events, as well as business activities.

During the celebration, Buenos Aires will also host the annual Gnetwork360 International Conference on LGBTQ Business and Tourism, an important LGBTIQ travel in the world.

There is also the international film festival Asterisco, the queer tango festival, and the LGBTQ Pride Parade, which will take place from the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada to Avenida de Mayo on Nov. 4.

The festival has become an annual fixture in Buenos Aires, which is currently regarded as the number one destination in Latin America for LGBTQ travelers.

LGBTQ-friendly BA Diversa Festival

There are a lot of reasons to go to the BA Diversa Festival but even more to visit LGBT-friendly Buenos Aires and Argentina.

For example, there are gay tourists who go to Buenos Aires to get married and have their honeymoon as Argentina allows same-sex marriage. All you need are your documents and two Buenos Aires city residents as witnesses!

The newlyweds can also have a great selection of wedding venues, from the city’s most beautiful building, the Alvear Palace Hotel in Recoleta, to the high rise Alvear Icon and the Faena Hotel in Puerto Madero.

If they’re not in the mood yet to tie the knot, LGBT tourists can check out Buenos Aires’ nightlife, from Sitges to Glam and Amerika, one of the city’s biggest nightclubs.

There’s also Contramano, the city’s oldest gay bar, as well as the crazy weekly late-night party place, Fiesta Plop.

And when you’re in Argentina, you need to do this Argentinean tradition: the tango! Gay visitors can head on down to Tango Queer and La Marshall, two well-known LGBT-friendly milongas, or social dance spaces.

Lastly, you can’t miss the Buenos Aires’ new H Line Station that features Carlos Jáuregui at Pueyrredon and Santa Fe. This subway station is the first and only one named after an LGBTQ activist.

So what are you waiting for? Pack those bags and get your tickets for some fun in the sun at the BA Diversa Festival!
